Fuels (such as gas, coal, oil, biomass and hydrogen etc) are burnt to release energy which is then harnessed to serve some useful purpose, and this is certainly true for vast majority of central heating boilers.
Our Eco Air Boiler requires no such fuel; it harnesses the free ambient energy in fresh air.
In order to function, our Eco Air Boiler requires an electric supply. The amount of electricity required is very low (2kW per operational hour), yet this too could be obtained from the earth’s natural resources. Using PV (Photovoltaic) panels, electricity can be generated from the sun, all year round – even in the UK! With enough panels, it is possible to create a totally self-sufficient heating system for your home. Global Energy Systems are also looking closely into electricity generation by wind turbines – call us for further details on this or any other aspect of HAPS. The real-life efficiency of a HAPS is high because you are using an intrinsically efficient system to generate electricity and further, the electricity is generated at the point of use.
Future government initiatives will give our customers a feed-in tariff whereby you will receive a monetary reward for the generation of your own heat and/or your own electricity. The actual figures are yet to be announced, so keep checking our website! And remember, any surplus electricity generated by you can be sold back to the national grid.
