Coefficient of Performance
The Coefficient of Performance (COP) is a measure of the effectiveness of a boiler in converting the fuel it uses into heat. It is a simple ratio of energy in, to energy out. In all conventional boilers the COP is less than 1 i.e. they consume more kW h of electricity, oil or gas than they produce in heat. The most efficient combi boilers can approach a COP of 0.9 or 90% efficiency.
The Eco Air Boiler heat pump produces a COP of up to 4 or 400%, thus as much as 4 kW h of heat can be produced from 1 kW h of electricity, this is high performance, renewable micro generation.
The COP of a heat pump varies with the outside temperature. During the no obligation initial consultancy Global Energy Systems will assess the energy efficiency of your property, the heat delivery methods that you have or propose, and the size of your property, to design a system suitable for your requirements in even the most extreme weather. Eco Air Boilers delivered renewable heat energy effectively throughout the winter of 2009/10.

This assumes a steady flow temperature of 35°C, sufficient to hold a room temperature of 21°C in a reasonably insulated property, and are based on independent testing.
Not all heat pumps are created equal. Many start life as air conditioning units designed to work in the summer months. Many are also designed for office buildings where noise is not an issue. Many are designed to rely on expensive to run, electric immersion heaters on a day to day basis.

Designed to offer domestic hot water up to 70°c down to air temperatures as low at -25°c the Eco Air Boiler has no need for immersion heaters to supply year round hot water. It can work with power showers and standard radiators through the deepest of winters.
